question

Whats the oldest electronic gun? I dont care if its an e-sear tripper or real electro pneumatic. I'm just curious who first used electronics in paintball.

I dunno... Bushmaster or Angel maybe?

I bet it's gonna be something obscure. Like it was invented in the 80's but as an idea that was ripe before it's time.

I wonder when they started using them in precision target guns and such?

IIRC, the Shocker. The old shoebox, made by Pneuventure, who then sold to SP.

From what I heard, they sold the sales rights to SP--who then took it upon themselves to 'acquire' the manufacturing and name rights to it. But I could be mistaken.

Aside from that, the military has had a patent for an electro-marker (for different purposes, I assume) since the '70s, I believe.

the military patent is for something more like an electronically actuated cannon. It would be cool to shoot one though.

The PVI shocker was the first paintball application that I know of, and that was back in '96.

Yup, PVI Shocker. Closely followed by the Angel V6 (I think) and the PVI Cyborg (never made it to production).

The PVI Cyborg, better known as the PVI Cyber 9000 was the first LCD gun back in 1996 or 7 forget which now.

Do you mean [I]this[I] Angel???

Oh how things might have been different...

In a parallel world, Brass Eagle might be a well regarded company.

^^Yeah... I can't believe they were almost the distributors.

They did a good job with the Rainmaker, though. Not a big fan of the zip-ties on the later models... but never the less, pretty decent.
