X-Pug #2

Website updated at www.xpugpaintball.com with results and photos from the last event. Thought you guys might be interested in seeing some of the markers that players brought to the event. Sadly, we forgot to snap photos of Derrick Obatake's markers. He brought the first Box Gun ever made (he designed it), as well as his Duck (Dave Loo's personal marker before he passed away). It looked like a fun event to play. I think the stick feed rule is encouraging guys to bring out more classic (classy) markers than what we've been seeing here with other local tourneys.

Yeah it was tons of fun! I can't wait for the next one in early November. No foul language spewed on the field, no crazy arguements over calls, just straight up balling for the love of balling.

The teams are picked at the venue so it's really friendly since you're not bringing any team baggage with you into the games. Teams ref. each other, so everybody has a hand in keeping the games flowing, etc.

Entry was only $20 so it's not like you're getting jammed by some organizer or association.

If you see the pics I'm the only dOOd in Camo LOL! Tiger Stripe 4lyfe.

Brent otherwise know as "B" holds such event at a privet field in an undisclosed whereabout in Massachussets a couple of times per year.
He always insists on stick feeds, but takes it a bit further by imposing 12g usage as wll.
I agree that all but the best of the "classics" make it out to his games. To bad I can't say the same for the unsavery types who dorn them, though they're a very fun group of PBP's.

mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

^ Hahaha! I had a hard time even find 12g's for sale here in SoCal.. Paintball stores don't usually carry them anymore I gather. I ended up finding a couple old bags of 10 count I had lying around my closet, then I found a box of 25 for sale at a Sports Authority (formally SportsMart) store.

The field owner frowns on 12g's rolling around on his artificial turf, so instead of just ejecting them willy-nilly like I'm used to, I had to manually drop them into my hand, then into a pocket. It made the reloading process a few nervous seconds longer. Maybe next time I'll run a small 3.5oz bottle.

Yeah, as much as I personally enjoy using 12 grams, it ends up being a nightmare for indoor turf fields. It's a little too difficult to make sure everyone picks up their 12 grams after every game. I'd feel terrible if a guy tripped and took a bad fall, or slid on one and hurt themselves at a tournament I set up.

There was a brief period of time in the late 90's when SC Village frowned upon the use of 12 grams. The story I heard was some lawyer (or his son) tripped on a 12 gram on the walkway between the fields and parking lot.

If I can build enough of a following, I hope to be able to sneak in the occasional outdoor event that would follow the old Carter Invitational rules. Stick feeds parallel to the barrel with a maximum 1 ball stacked, and single 12 grams having to pass through threads with 1.5 turns. I have quite a bit of work to do before I can run an event with those restrictions, though.

Yup, it seems like with Snipers being so popular with the pumper crowd a lot of peeps are running a bottom line bottle, and playing with more of a "subgun" style. (Both elbows tucked way in close to the body, left hand always on the pump, right elbow wrapped around the bottle for support, a lot of duckwalking, etc.)

The days of the majority of stock players having a more handgun style with their arms extended and often times both hands wrapped around the receiver seems to be less in fashion. I guess the weight and balance of the guns have changed that.

Also the longer 12"+ barrels would also make running a tank more sensible too.

What really got me turned onto Pump was the fact that all the weight I'd have to support was under three pounds, less if I use a Phantom. Going stock class is a disadvantage I'm willing to cope with. I didn't expect discipline would develop by default thereafter. Something I feel is a virtue I try to pass along as often as I can. It's my way of keeping the sport an honest one, if that makes any sence.
