I'm not sure though.

Most fields I've worked for used the "soapy bucket, and garden hose" technique with Tippmanns. Dunk, spray and dry. Rarely would I take them apart, unless they also had a mechanical issue.

Clearly the Sp1, with electronics, could not use the same method. On a small scale, easier to clean, but maybe not on a large scale.

actually, for the outside of the gun, I run the faucet of my sink over my SP1, and it's been working very well. SP has a video of an SP1 or Vibe firing while the whole gun was submerged underwater.

But do they advocate that?

Meaning, if a field uses the dunk&spray method, is SP going to cover board replacements in the case of water damage?

Not dissing SP, as the SP1 is the first gun they have ever made that I kinda like. Clean and simple. I much prefer the boxy look over the curves found on "trendy" guns. It is also extremely simply to use, but, I'm not sold on if it can take the abuse that a Tippmann can take, which is WHY it has long been the #1 rental gun.

my favorite is when they compare the field strip times, they use a spyder style blowback.

and when they strip the spyder, they take the bottomline setup and drop forward off.

when, clearly, a spyder is WAY WAY WAY WAY faster to field strip then an SP1

wouldn't be the first time, a classic mag field strips faster the luxe.

Well, that would be why your screws are rusting...

Frankly, I imagine Tippmann is very worried about market share with the release of the SP1 and to a lesser extent the BT-TM7.

Come to think of it, I'd recommend a sp1 to a newer player over a model 98. And this is coming from someone that owns and likes Tippys (68 carbine and a M98).

To be fair, is there a gun that isn't easier to clean than a 98? I have one from the long long ago and it's a total PITA. The new ones out since their move over to china have totally sucked. The internals on my fiances A-5 broke quick.
