I finally seen some of the commercials the other night. They were ridiculous. The only part of them that resembled paintball were the splats. It's like SP is trying to make paintball out to be a fantasy sport for 12 year olds.

The real blame here lies squarely on the 'AGG' teams who promote this kind of behavior.
Did Smith&Wesson sell a lot of their guns to 13-year-olds? If you tell that age group something is cool, they'll do it. That's why we have the 'War on Drugs', not the 'War on 13-year-olds who use Drugs'. Heheh, just jerking your chain a bit, I realize the analogy doesn't translate to paintball 100%.

Maybe a fantasy sport for 12 year olds wasn't exactly what I was trying to say. It just did such a bad job of representing paintball, especially since paintball's not that well known. That, and I can't see this commercial really having an impact on anybody out of junior high, unless SP thinks that they can get young kids enamored with the sport, and that they'll cash in when these kids are old enough to play.

I wonder how all the PBN kiddies feel about this. They tell everybody how paintball is a real professional sport, and it's not stupid for them to spend all thier time and money on it,and it's not just a thing for kids. Then this commercial comes along.

I just did a search to find out.

The link is to page two of the thread, which is where talk of the commercial begins to pick up.
