Question about Single trigger shooting

My recent blazer from the PPS deal arrived yesterday and from the looks of it, we'll be spending a lot of time. But I've only used single triggers with pump guns and the only other single trigger semi that I've used was a Stingray II with a 2 mile trigger pull.

Now my question is, my trigger finger is pretty slow, how do I learn or teach myself to pull faster? Can anyone share some tips?

Thanks!

practice, practice, practice.

Really you can't train it any other way.

I don't understand how a doubletrigger helps you fire faster? Unless it is walkable. (Most mechanicals are not walkable though) If your middle finger is faster you can still fire a single trigger with your middle finger, just put your index finger up on the side of the gun. You'll be surprised just how fast you can rip on a single trigger blazer. I prefer it over the blade, or the double trigger.

Exactly. The easiest way to increase single trigger speed is to use your middle finger. I have done this often with my Stroker and it works great. But I admit I prefer a double trigger if using my middle finger all the time.

You guys are missing one point. A double trigger hinge allows for a longer lever and thus a lighter pull. A lighter pull can often add to speed.

This is also true. But your middle finger can still shoot faster as a rule than your index finger too. So the two combined is double the potential speed.

As a newbie that's currently learning with markers of both styles I find I can't really shoot any faster with my index finger than the other. So I'm voting that it's something you learn rather than something that's inborn in your central digit. So practice and familiarity is the key.

On the other hand there's some things that DO come naturally to the middle finger...

So can a shorter pull, and if the lever is longer, so is the distance. I guess the best way to ensure optimal speed is to make a comfortable trade-off between trigger weight and travel that best suits the user, so it really comes down to personaly preference. I'm much faster with my trigger finger than my middle finger...that said, I've always felt a single trigger offered the most stable firing platform anyway, allowing you to keep much more of your hand steady on the grip. Maybe that's why real guns don't have double triggers?

Practice. Tap your fingers (I alternate middle and first to sort of equally build) whenever you're doing anything. Friends, family, lovers will HATE you for that. But it helps.

That's an old musician trick, believe it or not. Helps with typeing skills amongst other uses as well.

You can also go to your local music shop and by any number of torture devices designed to increase finger strength and dexterity.
