I don't hate Ions ..if fact I had one and they're decent guns, but,I do see where these young kids don't know anything about trigger control and just hose away with any of these new electros and end up causing people like me to get hit 20 times while calling themselves out....I've always thought all players should be made to start out using pump guns so they can learn how to shoot before moving up to semis

Ya, I wish that it didnt have to be like it is, that everyone who walks onto a field with a pump, or even an old non-electro semi gets told to get a "real gun". Even if that person has been playing most of thier life, they still get called a noob and this and that. Even if you make nice shots all day, they are called lucky unramped shots anyway.
Im afraid this is most of the downfall of our sport, not to mention the economy, but still. I really hope that many fields will start watching things like this more, just to help the new players learn the game, not be afraid, yadda yadda yadda.

While I certianly don't disagree with, I do often wonder what we can do to improve it. I mean it's great for us to come together and vent to each other about the problems plagueing the sport but we should really be trying to ways to combat the problem. I'd love to see some type of mentoring programs more widespread. When you purchase a maker get a free weekend at a field where they show you how to properly maintain you marker and instruct you on some basic techniques. I'm sure it would help if only a little.

Im glad to hear that, Ive been trying to start that for my college club. I want it to be so that everyone new player who wants to become a member will come to a "workshop" where we show them our rules, our markers, help them with any new marker of thiers, and general safety stuff. I think itll probably be until next semester at least, but Im glad Im not gonna be the only one shooting for this. (so far our members have been pretty good over all, but its always nice to have precautions)

I wouldnt' have built 2 or 3 of 'em if they weren't good guns.

My issue is with the mindset you get with any kid who gets way too much firepower and not enough control over it to use it safely.
