Ion Haters Unite!!!

Does Anyone else hate the ions?

I was playing with my old spyder tlr with a 26" rifled barrel, when i came up on 2 fresh noobs using, what else? smart parts ions. At first i didnt even think about it, sighted in shot 2 rounds and got 2 headshots, took both of them out easy. I then got chewed out for "lucky shots" from the noobs mentioned above, it was their first game.

This year i went out with my brand new twin delta .68's, with bottom lines respectfully, when i came up on a team of first timers. They were hanging around the snack bar when me and my only teammate walked up and challenged them to a game. as we took the field, he primed his spyder pilot, which we have silenced, and i got ready for a tough game. When they took the field, EVERY ONE OF THEM had and ion! 8 fesh players, 8 ions.

The game starts, they all run to cover, hold the ions over the top, and blind shoot the entire round. They hit my buddy after he maneged to take out 3 of them, i mopped up 4. The remaining 2 had set up behind a log, where they were blindshooting over top of it. i peeked out of cover, and into a zero-chopped-ball hailstorm. 200 rounds later and they clipped one of my deltas.

After we were done playing, they had the audasity to tell me that they had, and i qoute, "brutally raped me".

Can someone explain to me how 2 well prepared headshots are "lucky", and 1 clipped oversized pistol, out of a full hopper, is "brutal rape"?

so this thread is for all those who have played with, or against an ion and hated it entirely. the noobs who use them use the r.o.f. of the gun to make up for their lack of talent. Anyone who agrees that smart parts making this gun is one of the worst things to happen to paintball, Can i get a HO-RAH!?!

Just so I understand the rant. Your not upset over any technical issue or problem related to the marker just the people using them? Isn't that just a little narrow minded?

I believe your rant should be regarding the place you play at and how they allow unsafe play practices (the blind firing) or possibly the "I'm greater than god" complex's some new players seem to approach the field with.

Seems to me you would have had the same problems regardless of the marker in the players hands.

In your entire story, I didn't read a single instance where the ions did anything wrong. If you want to blame the annoying children, fine. If you want to blame their parents who didn't raise them well, okay. But blaming their ions is like blaming Rosie O'Donnels spoon for making her fat. It may be a larger spoon than anyone else has, but she was the one to use it.

For the record: I have two ions. My mechanical ion, and the ion my wife uses when we play. The ion is light, easy to work on and maintain, cheap and easy to use. My wife loves how small it is. Ions are responsible for the slew of more affordable high tech guns now on the market.

Is hating on a marker really necessary? If you don't like playing with people who use them, don't play said people.

How does that 26 inch rifled barrel shoot?

Honestly, I feel sympathetic to the OP.
I see far too many kiddies who buy ions and then have no idea how to control that much firepower. They just hose paint like crazy and think that they are the **** when they actually manage to hit something.
Hate those ****ers with a passion.
Thumbs down for ions, the cheap overshooting tool of choice.

Anyone who thinks it's the markers fault for being bonus balled or it's the marker that causes players to act in a certain way then I suggest serious counseling. Really,,, that's just plain idiotic.

Who controls the marker? Who is responsible for said markers condition and functioning?

Come on now. Someone get me that sig that said "Spoons made Rosie Fat".

This is quite close to trolling, if I were you I would change my attitude here quickly. ( this serves as the first last and only warning)

Come on, there are plenty of people out there who hate BrassEagle for providing "cheap vandalism tools" to the masses and therefore give paintball a bad name.

And done!

To the OP: Would it have been any different if they had been shooting Eteks or Rails ?? Don't hate the marker, hate the player.
