Paintballs for Old Stock Markers - Nelspot

A group of us got togerther last month and were playing stock class. Some of us had stock markers that you cannot use detents. There were a lot of barrel rollouts. What is the largest diamater quality paint currently made and what is the size. I'm considering finding some 32 Degrees paintballs for my Nelspot. Just wondering what other Nelpot shooters find as worthy paint. Worst come to worse I'll just get the whole thing plated to the diamater I want.

Good question!

In my humble conspiracy theory, all the paintballs are made by the same factory. The speedball kids want the tiny, brittle paint and so that's what we all get.

I think our best bet may be trying to find 15 year old paintballs...

Can you measure the I.D. of your Nelspot? I have a Nelsopt 007 and even after honing (de-rusting) and polishing the barrel, it still measures .683". It shoots fire with medium bore paint like Marballizer.

Don't have a bore mic. handy. I'll have it measured next week. I used to have good luck with Marballizer and Proball, just can't seem t find any locally. I have been shooting Evil Ramp but that's seems to not work well when the temperature drops

Remember when RP Scherer, used to be called "RP Scherer"?
That was the best paint for my SI, could go through cases without a break.

Now, believe it or not the Scorched line from Draxxus seems to do ok. I get them at Walmart for less than $40 a case. (make sure you open the box before buying)
Red shell, Pink fill, and usually around .688 diameter.
Sometimes yellow Big Balls, are the same diameter.
That's for the old pumps.

Marbs for everything else.

I was thinking that only Michigan was getting the iddy biddy paint these days, but I guess it is nation wide.

Mabalizer usually works @98% from all of my older stock Sheridan, and Nelsons. but not my stock Phantoms. They like the red ring, even for marbs.
I find the Scorch from Draxxus to be inconsistant, and will rate it at 75%.
Evil seem to be the smallest, though the fav at tourneies. Which dispite to in contrast as to Drum's beliefs, my conspiracy theory is based more to do with greed involving the manufacturers them selfs... In that tourney playaz will shoot, and shoot till the whistle blows, with no regard to a specific target, other then keeping the lanes closed, whilst their robots can move up the field.
The more paint they can store in the hopper te beter.

THE-SHOOTIST Anyone chubbin' like me for this?
mailmanmike Since Monday! That's more than 4 hours though, so according to those cialis ads I should see my doctor.
tlane77 I think for a non-chemical chubby it's 6 hours before its time to see a doctor. So you should be good for another couple hours.
splattttttt I wasn't goin to google "chubbin" because I assumed it had to do with fat. The lard type, not the fun stuff. But what ever feelings Jeff's experiencing, then they must be of the fun like stuff...

I like the Scorch, but I think it's getting replaced. The name escapes me, hopefully its the same.

I usually at a FPO field, so I'm pretty sure that I end up with econo grade Zap, and occaisionally some Evil of one flavor or another. I've never had trouble with roll outs, until recently. I got to tinkering with an older PGP barrelset and it would roll out. My newer PGP, with it's .685 bore doesn't have any trouble with 'em.

I'm pretty "abusive" to my paint too. I've not really had any paint related issues until I learned the hard way it's bad to leave paint in pods. I had some dimple up, it would not shoot straight. I found if I leave it in the bag, I'm fine. (I have some 3 year old Super Swirl that is still round....

Catchya on the Flip Side.....

Emerald Wolf -- wants to make shot rounds with those 6 mm airsoft paintballs...
