As I am just getting back into pump now, and am nearby (Vancouver now, but used to live in Victoria years ago), this is welcome news. I will definately follow with interest.

However, not to rain on your parade, but why the name, "Rising Sun"? To Asians of my parent's generation, the Japanese rising sun flag evokes the same reaction as the Nazi swastika would to people of Jewish descent, or the Confederate flag to African Americans. It's a neat looking design, but not everyone's aware of the ramifications and history attached to it.

My guess would be it was similar to "Horizon paintball", and Noodle would not have chosen that name with mal intent.

I never meant to imply mal intent. I simply thought to point out something that doesn't occur to many people. In fact, if I didn't have Asian parents who made sure I was well educated in what the Japanese occupation in Southeast Asia, China, and Korea was like, I would never have known myself. I mean, it's not like the public school system ever paid much attention to non-European or non-North American history.

Certainly, no one would ever name their business "The Third Reich", simply because we all know what that was all about. It's just a shame that Asian history tends to get missed in North American schools.

Anyway, I only meant to bring that up as an aside. The main point is that I'm happy to see pump well represented in B.C., seeing as more and more people are rediscovering the thrill and challenge of pump play, myself included.

Well I was going to post a nice update post but.........

Yes it is meant to be similar to Horizon. I wanted to change the name but keep it similar. Rising Sun was the logical choice because of my association with Japan.

and Verizon was taken :P haha

I am fully aware of Japanese history. Both what is taught publicly in North America, what is taught publicly in Japan, as well as the info in between that isn't taught publicly. You are correct that they don't show the real harshness of the Japanese empire in schools here. All you hear is how evil the Nazi's were. Nothing of Japanese tying people to stakes in a field and then gassing the field to test the spread of it whatever chemical it was. etc (don't need to go into that stuff in this thread)

Japanese themselves know even less. I'm surprised they know there was a war at all. Seriously.

But last time I checked, Japan is still known as "land of the Rising Sun" . And is filled with oddly dressed girls and cell phones that you can't use on any of the trains. So a portion of the logo is based off an old flag? It's a logo for a paintball website. Not a hate site. If people can't grasp that then... I donno?

I guess I just won't expect orders from any 80 year old Mainland-Asian (and islanders) people who still refuse to buy a Sony TV because it's Japanese? Even though it's made in China. Because I know there are people like that, that can't let go of some of the things they experienced first hand.
