Because women never want to get us what we really want.

As for the topic at hand, I think the joy and excitement will have you covered. If I were in your place I'd actually worry about looking excitted prematurely and thus tipping her off that you know what's in the box.

LOL!

What DO men want?! I've been trying to figure this out for years now. You all are impossible to buy for. You buy what you want on your own.

How many times has the wife said that to me? Yes, It's true when I think about it. Problem is also: I know exactly what I want, which makes it even harder because I always have a certain variation of the base model in mind.
You know, not just a Blazer but an E Blazer, Mq valve, milled, annoe'd, clamping feedneck etc.

I usually buy it myself because I'm never comfortable asking anybody for anything. Not even my wife. I'd rather go without, than have to ask somebody for something.

I remember Craig walking by with that gun at Pumpday a few months ago. My son dubbed it Aqua Camo. It was love at first sight for me. Fourtunately for me it was a mistake gun.

One of the local guys comissioned it. It was annoe'd the wrong color. It was supposed to get the green/yellow splash color that ended up on the Blazer Freedom got in The Wall package and the blue/silver was to go on the one that got the green/yellow. Both damn nice mistakes.

Damn nice mistake!!!

Also one thing here:
I hope you got your wife something nice for Christmas, or you have plans for her birthday/Valentines Day (which ever is closer). I mean granted if it was me, I'd appreciate something equally as nice PPS wise, but with most women they like something meaningful or jewelery related.

I am yet to see the chick run around showing off her new fiance to everyone rather than the ring. I guess most are just far more materialistic than I understand. I don't get it, I'd be the one running around with the poor sap, er I mean lucky man saying, "LOOK! This fool-er intelligent and wonderful guy just proposed to me!!!!" Then he would wait for the sympathy cards to start rolling in!

Just fake it, dont worry about it!
I VERY vividly remember running out and buying Halo2 on release day.... a few days before my bday and coming home from work all excited to check it out. Couldn't figure out for the life of me why my wife was pissed at me for days.

Found out later she had pre-ordered it for my bday present months earlier. Oops.

Suddenly I'm worried about you Kindred..... or is this what you wear at the field for armor?

The worst thing you can do is over act and if you're practising then it'll bite you in the backside. Just go sort of quiet for a moment and then look up into her eyes and reach over and give'r a big ol' hug and than start ripping open the box. Any further facial contortions or exclamations and she'll know that you're as guilty as a puppy caught in the middle of a pile of unrolled toilet paper. Remember, women are psychotic... or is that psychic... I always get those two mixed up.... or maybe I don't....

Kindred, we *know* exactly what you mean. Lacey is ALWAYS good!

I would have a real hard time not giving away that I knew before I opened the present. Practice, practice, practice! Don't forget to do your "routine" for her presents - shake, sniff, guess, whatever - just make sure you guess wrong, but nothing stupidly wrong. Good luck!

And Listessa, the problem is that women try to out think men after we give them a list of what we want. They try to upgrade it, improve it, or interpret the list as to what THEY think we asked for (Dremel kit = dress shirts...go figure, and I made this example up). Not all women, mind you, but many I know do this. My wife is great, except last year she got ticked when I ended up haivng to get my present from her myself due to urgency of getting it off a forum sale before someone else did.

So I've been bypassing this thread for the past couple'a weeks... Thinking it as your ordinary X-Mas WTF! WRONG!!! You're one lucky MF dude. My wife's been pushing, and winning the battle of"Get this crap outta here". But I still love her,
