I wonder what the guys with the $500 outfits think of the guys wearing faded fatigues and hawaiian shirts.

Back on topic, sniper tubes... Marketing 101!

I would think real sniper tubes would be black with black caps. With these, a sniper would stand out like a sore thumb.
All we can do is just laugh at THIS attempt at SpecOps marketing.

I think milsim will be around a while. It's what the player wants. It's back in the woods and away from speedball. Personally I'm kind of glad that Camo Came back. I missed it. I'm glad to see pump play back. Now a player has to think about a move. Yes I think milsim will be around for a while and so will woodsball.

To clarify, I don't think woodsball or Milsim is a bad thing. I enjoy scenario which embodies both, and I for one hope that they both stick around for a long time. I think skipjack289's post was well put. It is about this particular silly attempt at marketing. It just doesnt seem like a different enough product to justify such a far out name.

Glenn knows about it per that link to the Paint Forum thread

Kind of poetic justice that they are called "Palmer sniper tubes" because Glenn really likes to go sniper hunting.

Let's look at other stupid items over the yrs.

Let's see, there was Hot Shots. Ran around $29.00 for a box of washers. These were used in conjunction with nelson valve tubes to get more shots and they sold well.
Then the $1000.00+ dollar markers and many paid for them.
Then the stupid company logo jerseys that everyone wears.
Let's not forget those special pants. And my favorite thing speed ball which in my opinion ruined the sport. But most all made the choice to pay for them.
They were well marketed to certain crowds. Personally I don't own any or really play speed ball anymore. It's just that companies are out there to make money and know there are people who will buy them. I think Spec Ops and many other milsim places have a great market concept. Their ideas may be a little out there with their forum rank structure but hey it's what players want. So what if they call the tubes "palmer sniper tubes". To me it shows respect and credit where it is due lol. If the issue is because they are using Palmers name, who really cares? There is always some idiot out there ready to buy a part or marker that some Pro player has "Blessed". So no big deal. Hey there is nothing wrong with playing soldier on the weekends and dressing the part lol. I really like see those guys out there. Finally an actual player I can give camo tips to lol. The only milsim or scenario players I worry about are the ones that are "WAY OUT THERE IN CHARACTER" So let's look at it like this:

Bob Long Intimidater $1200

AIM/advance concept/CYP Timmy Jam/Nemesis/ $600.00-$700.00

Both do the same thing ,accept the same parts same boards made by a company out of china. Hmmmm which should I pay for. Which would you choose?

Anyway back on topic. Isn't paintball a crazy over priced over marketed sport. Maybe that's why I like it so much lol. I can't wait till I convert to milsim or actually play in a game with these guys.

What I think is stupid is there "Reviews". They review their own products, and don't even mention competitors products. They shouldn't be called reviews.

They would have you believe that the Special Ops "Milsim" C-series barrels (with Kevlar for added toughness) are the best in the world. I'd take a nice brass barrel over that any day of the week.
I'm surprised they haven't tried to outfit the Palmer's Super Stocker's that they sell with those barrels.
