What would you guys pay for wooden grips?

Reason I ask is because I'm looking to start making and selling them. Here's a sample of 45 frame and sheridan grips w/ thumb grove.

These are out of maple with a clear coating. I have various other hard woods/exotics I can use, IE zebra wood, mahogany, etc etc

Just trying to get an idea before I start making a ton of them. And also, what wood would you like to have grips made out of?

Thanks a ton guys!

Probably around $20 for plain wood. The thing with these is unless you are offering them in some intricate design, i don't see my self buying them. There was another guy selling a bunch of plain wood panel too, for around 25 to 30 on AO (and here i think), and it didn't seem to generate that much interest.

I have made sold some from time to time. The market is hit or miss, sometimes they sell like hotcakes, and others the just hang around unsold.

I'd have to say $20 or so. PPS sells wood Sheridan grips now for $35 I believe, although they're flat panels w/o the finger grooves. Not sure what RBGrips charges (or if he even makes Sheridan panels anymore). I wouldn't even bother making 45 panels unless you can do it uber cheap, as there are 2305982093583 people who sell those.

Most of that number seem to be members here to boot.

I wouldn't buy those unless they were very, very cheap. The more exotic looking wood grips sell in the $20-$25 range if well done, and I've already bought more of those than I need. These don't seem to sell out very quick at those prices, so I'm not sure how likely you are to sell many.

A guy named Kruger was making wood grips out of very exotic wood for a long time here and on AO. I have a pair of his grips for an Intelliframe. I think they were going in the $30 range for the fancy stuff.

What I haven't seen for sale yet, is unfinished blanks. Grip panels with the holes made already but with enough wood left on them for people to finish them themselves to fit their own hands. That might be a market to explore.

I have some 45 panels sitting here unsold right now, as well as some figured Sheridan panels.

i would agree with the $20 mark. would love to see some pics of the ones you have sitting around. I have been looking for a set of 45 wood grips in a darker wood.
