It's not nearly as huge as I'd thought it would be. Looks freakin' sweet though, can't wait until these are finished.


Did we decide on having vs. not having a top strap on there ?

There will be one on the machined portion to hold everything together. Since every barrel is different, and likely no two people will get the same length it would be a little tough on the barrel.

Just checking on something...

could I in theory send a chunk of aluminum weaver rail into you to modd as a "top strap" a LOOOOOOONG piece

Oh yeah, I could make a simple top strap the same way. But I wouldn't trust it not to bend without a connection at the front.......... back to the everyone wants a different barrel thing lol.

Weaver rail would probably be a bit more sturdy.

Something like that... but with cuts through it, really when it comes to that point, I can buy it mill the slots that I want and send it your way

I can just give you the mounting locations and you can mill it all up yourself

Cut and glued the blocks for the grip blank today. I'll take it to the drum sander tommorrow to shape it.

I went looking for a different hammer spring for the prototype, but the spring shop was closed. I suspect because the road in front of the shop has a 15' deep pit in it.
