Yeah, there is no way a real operator would pack all that extra crap they strap on their vests and guns to look cool. Weight is a big issue and if it serves no real purpose then they probably won't be packing it(all of the experienced operators I know and have trained with are pretty minimalistic). These airsoft(and some milsim paintball) people are basing what is "real" on COD4 and movies they have seen. Then they go out there and freak out because people aren't playing like its a real battle. Most of them need to take a serious chill pill and just have fun.

Spring airsoft guns are the best. Certain ones, like that UTG shotgun, have pretty decent quality and performance for being only 30$. The mini electric ones that are look like full sized ones squished into a pistol size are also really entertaining, they shoot maybe 150fps and have a low ROF so you can get a lot of movement....you can also duel wield them... (that emoticon has never been more appropriate)

I played saturday with my son and some of his young friends in a old hiproof barn with a loft ,had a blast they don't hurt the kids so much. One guy had a full auto spring gun with really heavy shot they kind of hurt not like paintball, but I believe we should pay for our mastakes.I enjoyed it in really close quarters like 5 feet apart sometimes, but on a field give me a sniper any day.

Had a lot of fun with AS, but the guns are really high maintenance. I had a Glock of some sort and I loved it. I looked and felt exactly like a real Glock. Inadvertently scared a lot of people too.
I also had a FNP90 that shot the most amazing ropes of plastic you will ever see.

I used to smash paintballers a lot. Stupid paintball, silly looking tanks....then I played it.

Sold all my AS stuff at a tremendous loss and bought PB gear. Never looked back.

I liked airsoft just because the guns look and feel awesome. The problem is that to get a quality gun you have to pay out the...

Anyway, Ive had three gas pistols and two springers and all of them broke within a couple months of buying them.

And like others before me have said, the thrill is lost in airsoft. It does not hurt at all when you get hit. And that is part of what gives you the adrenaline rush.

Paintball FTW!

They don't feel so awesome once you start shooting them. (With the exception of the full auto gas guns. Those are a hoot!)

Airsoft build quality is simply bad compared to paintball guns.
