I can do this test tonight for you.

7' - 3.2 gram 68 caliber
7'4" - 1.21 gram 50 caliber.

I'll drop 30 of each, and post the results tonight around 8 PM EST

And as to including a drag equation.. this is one of those times when education and experience for me say.... This stuff is so freaking trivial in the long run that I'm not going to include it. If we were dropping this thing over several hundred feet... or if weighed significantly more.... if each ball was absolutely identical (why do some balls bounce higher than others or more times than another..etc.) then I would be really worried about things and want to consider drag when dropping the ball... what will it do.. change the 4th significant digit... ie 1/10,000th of a FPE? Just wondering.

E
The impact speeds at 7' and 8' were measured using parts of an encoder I had designed and a 1G sample per second oscilloscope. The speeds listed were the average after ten of each were dropped. Setting it up is a mess due to the loose wires, splattered paint and the fact I'm at work, but the accuracy is good.

I too assumed drag would be insignificant. It was only after I noticed the small velocity difference between significant drop heights (compare 6' vs 8' fps) that I thought drag might be notable. It's actually enough to change the first significant digit of the result (0.0213 to 0.0184 as reported in an earlier post).

I know it's off topic, but here's mine:

1*(feather boa) + 2*(size 12 stilleto heels) + 1*(slinky sequin dress) + 48*(can of bikini wax) + 1*(big hairy man) = FAAAABULUUUUTH.

At least they're consistent.

Wonderful. Thank you.

That is pretty consistent, at least more than I thought it would be. Only an 8" drop height difference between 0% and 95% break.
