We as a market are not that much different from those who fish and hunt... except that few hunters/fishers hit the woods/water in such large groups as we do... and we actually are pretty organized.

But whatever... if he says I'm a jackass then I must be a jackass.

Well, that wasn't the intention. But regular players, me included, are fine in the role of bumbling consumer. It only becomes annoying when you realize that every step of the way up the supply chain is filled with happy clumsy hobbyists in commercial positions. Even the major distributors excuse themselves for incredible oversights on a regular basis.

How does the commercial portion of hunting and fishing market look, though? Consumers are consumers, but I'm constantly taken aback by the amateurism present in the commercial aspect of paintball.

You could do that test easily by supporting each ball in a "wind tunnel" test. The smaller ball has less wind resistance than the larger ball.

You just have to ignore sectional density and those other ballistic factors having to do with mass and energy (you know, motion).

Did TechPB have something that actually matched that claim? That seems a little odd.

*** I see Harbinger's comment on Mike now. That's a relief ***

A recent post on View from the Deadbox has a review of sorts of someone shooting close to a case on an X-Ball field setting. although the review was more or less favourable, it did mention the need to increase the angle of the barrel over what would be the .68 cal norm, indicating that the range is not the same.
