Rate of fire ruined this sport. Even somedays I don't want to play with ego toting freaks that just hose. I don't see the fun of you being out gunned and the other guy just sitting there wiggling his fingers. There ARE ways to over come them. but when they get you, it just ruins your day having 10-15 welts in your chest.

This is also good for backyard games, if all your friends have .50 cal markers then the playing field is even, just make bounces count as hits. I'd also like to see someone make an actual shotgun style marker that shoots several balls at once!

A game that fits this description and uses these rules already exists. It's called "airsoft."

We're doing some testing and reporting at http://www.paintballx3.com. We have a 4 part series going and today we just published part 2. Check it out. I think you'll find it interesting.

I just can't help to think smart parts is doing this to get around a patent of some type that was for markers that shoot .68 caliber paintballs.

Put up the video because everything posted is highly suspect.

I think it would be more to do with Italias non-compete with procaps.

Was that testing?

I thought it was a commercial for one of your advertisers.

What the hell's up with testing to see if 50 cal hurts less "for the newb"? Do kids actually show up to a field and decide not to play because the paint is too big? I've never seen it. I don't really care if someone doesn't want to play because they're scared, in the same fashion that I don't care if people don't skydive because it's scary.

I beleive they can co-exist...just not with .43 cal in the picture...

there has to be a main safety stay of .68 cal for primary marker setups and a .50 cal for smg and pistols...

AKAJAMES: I was pissed at the rate of fire deal too...but then I adapted to become a specialist at picking off what I call 'stationary machine gunners' after reading the book War of the Rats. I Basically trained with a mutt nelson wintec sawed off...periodically getting myself stranded in the middle of no-mans-land and waited for the rest of my semi team to rescue me while taking out bunker rushers and focusing in on attempted 180 degree flankers. Once rescued or reaching a fall-back-position I can hone-in-on the psych battle between me and the hosing opponent. This strategy has worked well for the last 5-6 years; even as ROF and Ramping rates have increased a steady 3-4 BPS per year lately.
