Even own a Mini-comp or Mini-buzzard? I'm curious as to how the two compare with the Gargoyle.

Frames feel different. Gargoyles frame's bigger/longer. One size fits all, but the Carters are angled more, and I like that. Rodney does have an alternate frame with a steeper angle. Both take cocker threads. What I like about the Gargoyle best is the valve chamber area. It is completely opened up, so you can at some point add a BBA. Designed mainly to run in warm, and colder temps depending on various typed volume restricters. But the best part is that this may also lead to to a more successful attempt at real low pressure exploration I've seen Nelson based guns achieve 450psi in the past, though a bit shy og lp still. The feed tube is pure genius!!!!!!!!!!! Every aspect is a modular screw in type, and all metal (alu).

I've heard the Carters can be rough on paint, and the whole 'not quiiiite a cocker thread' thing bothers me; I don't want to have to bevel all my barrels. I love the Gargoyle feed. Frankly though, Carters are easier to find for cheaper, and that might make my decision for me if performance/ pump stroke are the same.

performance/pump stroke are different,a carter is no harder on paint than any other un regged nelson.why would you bevel your barrels, the stock carter barrel is just as good as any other honed tube on the market.

I've only owned two Carters, a post-dye and a pre-dye, and neither required beveled barrels.
