Anyway.

As soon as the economy comes back, I see tankball as the next big thing. In preparation, I've been working on a shell-less waterballoon cannon. In the world of 40mm, I will be the one shooting 45mm.

Stock class was never a "big thing". It was the thing that people did when their guns were no longer competitive with "modern" technology. It's the Nascar of paintball. You guys can enjoy it, but I get dizzy too easily.

A lot of people don't "get" soccer because it's less about score and more about how you play.

That's stock class, to me and it's unfortunately what will prevent it from catching on more.
Wait, what? Soccer is like any other sport, there's going to be a winner and a loser. Sorry I just don't quite get the point you're making here...

Anywho, back on topic. I'm just gonna reiterate what a few other people have said, stock class isn't the next big thing but pump in general definitely is making a resurgence. Stock class is, IMO, a very difficult way to play the sport if you're primarily against electros or even semis, so I don't think it can ever be popular. Open class is much more user friendly obviously so I can see it being the next big thing.

Plus pump guns are just dead sexy...

Let me clarify something here.

The purpose of this is not to say that Stock class will be the next big thing, I feel that pump play is turning into the next big thing and I'm curious as to what affect that will have on stock class players and equipment.

Yes it's very hard to play stock class paintball against electro and/or mech semi's anyone that has tried it knows that. Yes Open class is more appealing to those that are transitioning from semi play.

If Pump turns into a major player in the industry (which I think it will) do you guys think that enough people will go that extra step that you will start to see SC only games/tournaments at commercial fields?

Stock class = 12grams and a stick feed. End discussion.

I'll say this for stock class play: if this current depression doesn't make the niche grow, nothing ever will.

i dont feel many fields will ever encourage stock play, welcome it, but not hope for it to be the big thing, paint profits die. I dont care if it's $300 a case with 1000$ season passes in some perfect paintball club scenario, they still make less that and an army of a5s churning steady so it's a demotivator.

Do I see more people looking to play SC and pump to save themsevles money in the current environment? Yes, to some extent. I also agree it's the truest form of paintball/capture the flag/skirmish, and if could be more universally adopted, likely the most fun way to play hands down.

SC rocks when everyone is doing it, otherwise its a personal badass challange.

Could not have said it better myself.

The best times I've had playing paintball was when everybody was using stick feed markers. Not that I played when that was the only choice, but when we were poor and played outlaw ball.

I agree with you 100% Al about fields not encouraging it but what I am anticipating is a few small "leagues" that are player created much like the FPPL and the Gravity League are today but SC leagues
