Seconded. This was what I was planning to do, but I went with the hard JT armour since I couldn't find any place that would sell me thick neoprene. When I do this the next time, I will try to locate some good foam.

A high density foam. What I have left of old head armor is anyway. Neoprene feels more "rubbery", so maybe it isn't that great to use.
