so I picked up a used kit recently. The green hose on the kit had been cut too short to fit my gun so I swapped it with some cocker lpr hose. Will this cause shoot down? It seemed like I was getting some shootdown when dryfiring at around 180psi. Just under 200 psi it doesn't seem to be having the same problem. As of yet I haven't been able to put paint through it and chrono it so not sure if I will be able to maintain this operating pressure or if I will have to reduce it to chrono at legal speeds.

so do I need new green hose?

The hose you replaced it with should be fine as it is a standard id. The larger hose we use is 3/32 ID and is not standard.

I am not sure why you would be having shoot down. Make sure that you spend time to tune the bracket so that you get the smoothest shot and fullest actuation as possible.

So I got the mech ion kit a couple days ago and I'm trying to install it. Is it okay if the hose leading from the valve to the t fitting is really squished up? it's the only way I got it to fit with the body on. Maybe i'll just replace that hose with lpr hose, it's a pain to get it to fit into the frame without it bending and kinking too much. Lpr hose is just a bit more flexible.

Squished a little will probably work fine, but no kinks or flat spots is ideal.

Have you looked through the manual? I've had the best luck making a loop of the tubing that runs next to the SMAV instead of trying to go straight to the barb.

I've cut it down to much already, I'll just use the lpr hose I have haha. That'll work right?

Should work fine provided it can handle the pressure.

So I test fired it today, and honestly, I'm extremely happy with it. It shoots smooth, very quiet, efficient. I think I finally found a mech I like better than my mags. This mech kit is 10/10. Love it!

Has anyone tried running the SMAV-3 from a LPR, but the rest of the system off a standard HPR? Not sure how light you can get the feel of the SMAV-3 while still cycling quickly. I'm deciding between building another pneumag or converting an Ion and I'd like to get the most out of the Ion as possible if it's the route taken. Could an extra line of the larger tubing (long enough to run from front to rear banjo straight) be included in a kit if one were to want to try both with and without an LPR?
