There is a sleeve that covers up a welding point.

The bodies start as 2 pieces, a vertical feed tapped for ccm threads is tig welded to the top of the body. The plastic sheath covers up the weld to clean up how it looks.

Is there a steel ring inside to protect the aluminum from the spring and bolt like in AGD aluminum bodies?

Is the body just the start of automag type parts you'll be making? Is this the wrong place to ask about future mag bits?

from the responses over on AO, and what I see in the pics...not good. The whole welding and plastic ring really seem to kill this thing. It's great to see someone realize the mag market is still their but if it's executed poorly it will flop and be harder to get other manufacturers to give the mag market a try.
