So - you drill one hole and pop the line through, and it's stiff enough to hold a ball in place? Hmmm...

I'm guessing that the ball is held in place by the collapsed line as well, once it's chambered?

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them.”

That's correct...

So in the open position the ball falls onto the line, and is chambered still sitting on top of it preventing rollouts.

Kind of like a flexible sled.
It can be done by drilling it in front of the bolt. You'd also need some good tape that would stick to the finish of a Sheridan...

Liquid electrical tape aka plastic dip would work the same as nail polish, but nail polish is cheaper. An o-ring slot milled into the barrel neck aka Azodin barrels sometimes work.

I don't mean to be "that" guy but is there a picture of the fishing line mod? It sounds really neat, but I have trouble understanding it.

I found out you can do the fishing line mod very easily without drilling any holes! Since the Empire trracer already has a hole for the double feed detent! I used some electrical tape to hold the fishing line to the outside of the trracer and double feed detent and it works!

The fishing line detente mod is a great mod for fixed barrels. Electrical tape is what you want for removable types.

It would be pretty sweet if someone who has done this would re-post pictures.
I would give you +7 e-points.
