EDIT - bought two of these at the local store: ![]() They're hard plastic and fit Freak inserts perfectly. OK - this isn't a post about a finished project but a call for help. That's "call" for help, not a cry for help, you jokers. I have a stock-class marker that take Freak inserts. The standard Freak case is huge so I'm looking for a pocket-sized cigar case to hold several inserts. http://www.cigarextras.com/ProductIm...063100L2SS.jpg That one is WAY too pricey but would be just about ideal: minimal padding, just enough to keep the inserts from clanking together and not nearly as much wasted space as the original case. That in plastic would be ideal. So, any suggestions for a holder that's cheaper? Maybe some kind of acrylic pipe from Home Depot, cut into 6 pieces and stuck together? I think that's a great idea, but wouldn't you need a 8 section case, since the Freak kits come with 7 inserts?

I've downsized my Freak kit a bit. I've kept seven: .679 .682 (in gun now) .684 .687 .689 .691 .693 The .695 and .697 are on the auction block as we never get .70 cal paint up here. Come to think of it, I've never seen .695 or larger in my life. Last edited by CJOttawa; 08-29-2009 at 02:09 PM. |

I saw one of those today in person - that's almost perfect except it has a humidor built in. | |

Using a cigar case is a great idea! I had the same issue about the case as you did, also I have all 10 inserts and I broke the window of plastic case. So one day when I had a hankering for some woodworking, I made one out of some scrap wood I had laying around. Total cost was about $5 since I could only find a giant piece of felt on ebay. The inserts are held by the edges with the foam, which I sourced from the SP case. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Cheffer Join Date: Apr 2006 | Perfecto XLT Travel Case (8-Finger ABS Plastic case) I've found this one ranging from $20-$30, looks to be exactly what you were describing, except the humidor. Is it a problem having a humidor, couldn't you just yank it out if you don't like it? Last edited by jhyan; 08-29-2009 at 04:22 PM. |
