Well, I do believe I have it ready for play today. And somehow hobbled together random pieces of velcro, buckles, washers and loctite into a usable leg rig.

No pictures yet, I'm sure someone at the field will have a better camera than me.

Here it is as I tested it on it's first day of play. Saddle ring installed, but still needs some tuning work.
Also want some wood for a foregrip but played fine without it.

And here is the rig I managed to get put together for it.

The saddle ring hangs on a hook that hangs off the belt. And the feed(or the barrel too) can be held in place with a spring steel rifle catch.

So you just hang the gun then pop the feed in the catch. The hook on the belt is attached on top of a swivel, I can easily sit down and the gun follows my leg. If the thigh strap is snug enough you can swing the gun on the hook to unholster it.
There is an extra strap to keep everything in the catch while you move as well. But I wouldn't run without a hand on the back of the gun to keep it on the hook.

Now imagine one day wood on the gun and the rig made of leather

This thing was awesome yesterday, but really needs a foregrip.

he has a foregrip he just didn't put it on yet lol

You could quite easily veneer that foregrip so that it looked like wood and wouldn't crack on you. You can get veneer and contact cement at the home depot. I would worry about just wood cracking by the way it needs to mount.

That saddle clip thing is kinda neat. Looks like the mounting point I put in worked out pretty well.

I loved the saddle ring!

Just a thought as far as forgrips go. If I went with a pull string mod on spring feeds I might be able to fit 1887 wood...WINCHESTER MODEL 1887/ 1901 WALNUT REPRO FOREARMS | eBay

If I use the regular foregrip, it and pistol grip will get hydrographic'ed with a wood print.
