Wood Grips

I spent the last couple of days making some wood grips for my DRV.

Thank you Dukie for the great production drawings of the DRV. As the pic shows they make great patterns to start with.



Here is the inside. The two haves are not glued together. There are 3 SS pins that help keep the haves aligned.



Here they are dry.







Here I wet them to show what they will look like finished.





I still have to do the fine sanding and final finish.

Actually I bought enough laminate to make 10 Grips and had planned on making a few to sell to offset my cost. I need to refine my process before I can figure out price. I'm using manual mill not a CNC and was surprised how much work it took machine the blocks before I could start shaping the outside. When I have the first run done (sometime after the holidays) and ready, Look for a heads up here.

They look great! I wanted to go this way once I get my DRV in my hands, but I'm not much of a wood worker. I would be a buyer

Third gen frames have a different hole spacing on the grips. The forward hole moves backward so that it is symetrical around the bucket changer.
