Semo, sadly that's not how it works in the paintball industry, at least not here in America. They'll want their piece of the pie, and that would mean legal trouble for Dukie almost 100%.

I don't think Dye owns any kind of IP with that though do they? The mag design is covered by Rap4's DMAG and the magwell itself isn't patented or anything AFAIK.

That may be a valid point, and I'm not sure if they do or not. But from the standpoint of an independent machinist making small run guns for extra money, I sure as hell wouldn't want to take the chance.

Not saying I wouldn't want to see Dukie do it, but when it comes to patent stuff, DYE is kind of a dick. Hell, they sent TechT a C+D for having two tail o-rings on Ion bolts, which was doing absolutely nothing to cut into their profits.

How about a harmonica gun style bolt action rifle where the indexed clip (correct term?) can slide both ways? You can then reload the clip while it's on the gun and/or carry a spare. This way there would be no feeding issues due to springs or the nose-heavy characteristics of the round itself.

yes we did. but the mags were going to be expensive and not as user friendly as most of the injection molded ones out there. IE follower retention but no ball retention when removed. plus the hammer 7 was buttloads cheaper than anything I could ever do.

that could be a lot of fun. load through the top like an m1 garand, but with smg type clips.

a simple approach would be a new body for a hammer 7 that was bolt action.

air in grip wouldn't be possible that way though.

Going to have to say your air in grip has worked wonders for me. Easy to change, aesthetically pleasing, in my experience it gets better efficiency etc...

I'm even thinking of picking up a spare just in case lol.

Back to your other mag fed phantom, I found the thread and have to say that is sweet. If you ever find a solution to the mag issues you mentioned I think that would be a huge hit.

All the best to you. If you see a pm about that remaining dsp in your inbox soon try and ignore it. If I bring home another marker my wife won't take any more pictures for us and I'll be homeless.

Double FYI for paintball rules there should be no "offer" of surrender, its either mandatory surrender at X distance when guy is behind you or no surrender and you get shot in the booty. "offer" of surrender makes for some ridiculous and dangerous john woo tactics.
