The DRV and First Strike

So had the DRV for a while and I wanted to know what thought and experiences everyone who owns one has on shooting first strike with them.

One of the unique features of the DRV that struck me immediately was the fact you could load up and carry your cylinders with the first strike rounds nose down, something that first strike users advocate for storage. so potentially i could load the cylinders a week before, store nose down, carry nose down and load and shoot when required.

Anyone else tried first strike then?

I shot a few through my old one, but they were old, poorly stored, and I was having leaking issues. Really it wasn't more than just plinking around.

Be careful loading them in the cylinders. You have to work the skirt in.

I didn't have any issues shooting them in my DRV. It was sorta wasteful since I really couldn't aim at anything due to no sights hehe. It was fun though!

Scenario game today.

Used eENMy for an hour then switched to DRV and first strike for the rest of the day (5 hours).
First STrike used = 75
Kills = 5 (maybe 6) mid to long range snipes.

Please bear in mind i'm really bad at paintball, especially if its in the woods so this result for me blew me away!. DRV performed flawlessly all day. I think I used 5-6 12grams all day?

Having multiple cylinders really helps and guess how many barrel breaks???

none.

I LOVE THIS GUN!!!!!

Edit - also, did not use any sights at all, just point and shoot, maybe sights would help as I missed quite a few easy long shots.

FSRs are accurate enough to benefit from a sight of some sort.

Has there not been a DRV set up like a Dan Wesson hunter?

I ran through the pics and only saw one with a rail.

Setting up shots with FSRs takes some patience that I worked to eliminate from my style. I can shoot FSRs, but I can't play with FSRs (yet).

I gave up on shooting firststrikes out of my 1st run DRV's. I can never get the rounds to come out in one piece. The skirt stays in the cylinder and the head of the round splatters down the barrel.

Take the oring out of the cylinder and fill the groove with Epoxy putty. I had one dedicated cylinder for first strikes because the oring held them too tightly in the cylinder.

Has anyone else had any experience with FSR out of these? Is the above mod only necessary for the GEN 1 models?

Not sure about Gen1 versions but without the above mod I shot first strike through mine all day at the last scenario game I played at, and they shoot FSR great.
