| Yup, I had a Super Nova | Quick SLG questions. I posted this in teh SLG review but that was an older thread so I'll ask here too... My wife just ordered me one as a Bday present and I had a couple qustions... Efficiency - I keep reading that these are fficient but no real numbers. Assuming its a 3k psi tank, what is the average number of shots per cubic inch? First run issues - I also read that some first runs had defective asa macro fittings and the detents wear fast. Now I did hear that Proto was supposed to be upgrading the detents. Were these ever addressed?

| The detents are the same detents that are in the PMR's. And yes, they wear quickly but are fairly cheaply and easily replaced with the PMatrix detents. As best as I can tell its just one of those upgrades you expect to have to make sooner rather than later, like the plastic back cap on the PMR or a stock barrel on a tippmann. |

10 shots per ci for 3K 15 shots per ci for 4.5K. you mileage will vary marker to marker. I'm betting the SLG will be on the low side. If you have any problems, just call Dye. | |

| The SLG is on the high side, it's more effecient than a 'Trix. 1500 sounds about right. That 10/15 shot per 3k/4.5k "Rule of Thumb" is about spot on for some things, way off on others. Anyway, enjoy your marker. I posted some more things in the review thread.

| Could anyone tell me the advantages/disadvantages of a slg over a pmr? I am looking for one or the other and cant decide which one to go with. Any help is appreciated. Also, could anyone give me a ball park price for used pmr's and slg's? Thanks |

| SLG Pros: Simple(EASY maintanence-3 or 4 o-rings) More efficient Smaller(lower profile) Hyper 3 Aluminum back cap Cons: No clamping feedneck stock Loud(er) More kick No UL frame(preference) Stock trigger not great(neither is PMR) PMR Pros Quieter Less kick More upgrades UL frame Cons Harder to maintain/less reliable Needs new back cap Less effecient Hyper 2(Not really a negative) There's not many used SLG's(That I've seen), but I'd guess around $150, and for a PMR just a bit more than that($180-$200). This is bone stock, of course.
