Spool valve animation
This is a great lil animation for those wanting to understand how the Fuse bolt in a Dye Matrix works (it's pretty close to the older matrixes... just fused!).
Imagine this going twenty times in a second!
that is the whole gun in fact...just clean bolt and lube and that is a machine
I've never owned a spool valve marker, nor do I care to, but it looks like there are an awful lot of o-rings in there. Do people find that these leak often ? How regularly do you have to replace o-rings ?
There's 7 that actually move with every shot. They don't require much attention at all. Simple cleaning and lubing keeps it perculatin'. The 2 adjacent to the center of the bolt (bolt sail) are just bumpers.
The entire line shoots quiet and very consistently straight.
Cool animations too Jhyan
The only credit I can take for the animations are finding them on the net and saving them to my hard drive. I think someone on Matrixowner.com did them.
As for the o-rings... they can be tempermental if you don't treat em right, but I've never shot a marker as smooth as my DM, so it's a trade off, possibly finickyness (word?) vs. amazing performance.
The only o-rings I've had issues with were with the front inside oring that the bolt rides on and the second to furthest back outer o-ring (marker was recharging super super slow... pulled the bolt out and found it stuffed most of the way into the hole that provides the air... no idea how that happened!)
When is someone going to hijack a dye bolt setup and make it a mechanical marker with a pneumatic trigger...like a better nova.
The grammer on their site is awfull, geez, if you can't speak english find some employees that are bilingual.
From the homepage
"AIR CHALLENGER have established well known reputation resulting from the consistent policy of high efficient, require low maintenance, have durable finishes and are friendly to the environment."
it kinda makes me want one. I want to know how they get it to cycle. 3way in the trigger frame maybe?
On the note of bad grammer. I've worked in a Toyota plant (Cambrigde) and all of the signs that come over on equipment from Asia have poor grammer it leads me to believe there was no literal translation for some words into english
It seals the dump chamber when the bolt is forward so a 3-way in the trigger frame should work.
The number one place for bad english grammar from the orient.
