$1,700 m79 grenade launcher on ebay

Claims to be a nearly real m79 grenade launcher just by adding a different barrel, but the for the price-$1700.00, its still just an airsoft gun. But I am suprised that ebay allowed this listing.

After reading a little, 40mm stuff seems to be legal to own? I don't know what would constitute as a whole "Firearm" if it is one?? Probably this is too much for ebay though.

I see that 37mm is "title 1" or just like any normal firearm and the 40mm takes a little more paperwork.

Surprisingly this is coming from Cali?!

If you wanted to keep a picture of that posting or anything I would screen shot it because I wouldn't be tooo surprised if it disappeared.

For your reading pleasured: http://37mm.com/

Don't see why you can't own one.

If somebody had a fully stocked machine shop, I'm sure you could make reusable shells which use store-bought primers and powder.

If you click around on the link I provided there are people that do just that. They are used for launching smoke, flares and other "fireworks" by civilians and the normal tear gass riot control stuff by cops.

That link and others that used to be on it were a little more informative and open a few years ago. I'm guessing everyones a little more careful about such things nowadays.

If it were a real receiver it would require paperwork via FFL forms. Smells of BS from the seller. For giggles one could always drop a dime to the BATF.

Just reread it, and it doesn't necessarily say anything about being real(unless my sleepy self is being stupid), just seems like some guy who dropped too much money on a replica and wants to get some big cash from the"It's **** if it doesn't look real" airsoft demographic. Does it say specifically anything about firing real shells?

Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you buy 40MM flares down in the US. I'm fairly sure anyone half competent could convert them to something fairly entertaining.
