Fall Castle Defender Auction!

EMR Fall Castle Defender Spot!

That is right, I have a Fall Castle Defender Spot up for Auction. All proceeds will be donated to the fire victim fund (more information can be found here: http://www.mcarterbrown.com/forums/n...s-welcome.html ).

LUKE from the MCB Forums has donated this registration and for those who know, it is special indeed. The reason is that there are only a limited number of defender spots available and they have been SOLD OUT. That means that no matter how hard a player wanted to be a defender at the Fall Castle, they can not…. Well, until now.

Those currently holding the defender position are CanCon, Carters Commandos, and more.

This defender spot is for Saturday September 29th ONLY. And it only covers the registration, no other costs associated with playing.

The Auction is a silent bid process where people PM me with their bid. I will keep a running high bid posted here, but NOT say who the high bidder or bidders are.

The Auction is open from NOW until September 16th. I chose this date because most folks have to make plans to actually attend and running the auction up any farther would not be fair to those bidding.

This Auction is an MCB sanctioned auction.

When making a bid please put CASTLE AUCTION as the title of the PM.

If you are a member of the A5OG or UMS forums and would like to place your bids to me there, please feel free to. I will be keeping a running high bid thread there as well.

AUCTION IS OVER!
The winner is our very own incynr8 !!!!! Congratulations and God bless.

In addition to the position, you will also be receiving 5 packs of Fogtech from Shadawg and Team Ragnarok. They will give them to you at the event.

(ADDED: This is an EMR sanctioned Auction. EMR does not allow unsanctioned position transfers.)

Better check with Blue on this, Sam. If I recall correctly, this sort of thing was attempted once before and the word from EMR was there was no transferability of Defender reservations. No money has changed hands between Luke and Blue to make this a simple purchase, so I think it is completely up to the field to decide whether this would be Kosher.

Granted, this is for a charitable purpose, as opposed to last year's effort to make the reservation fee back, so perhaps Blue might make an exception. But, barring that exception, the only way this would work is to have the purchaser lie to the EMR staff at registration.

Good luck with this, but be advised, it may be a little ticklish unless you get Blue's permission.

D.

PS: Why not auction off a spot in the bunkhouse? I am pretty sure that Carter owns a few extra spots that would actually be his to give/sell. I can't recall if Luke is a season pass holder or not.

Drum,
Blue graciously gave it his blessing on this.

As for the Bunk House idea, a spot was not offered to me. I only auction/raffle/sell things that were donated or that I personally own. And this reservation is for one day only anyways. So I don't know how that would work with a bunk spot.

That's very cool that Blue was in to this (and even more so that you asked him before posting).

Feel free to delete these posts to keep your thread clean.

Good luck,
D.

No worries Drum, and thanks.

I think I will keep all the comments up though so others can see them and potentially head off problems for others who may have thought about similar things.

Thanks for bringing that point up.

This is a good auction. Had I not already purchased a defender spot I would be fighting for this one. If it helps to put more bids into the auction I will add that attending SCP members have signed for defense as well.

Sam will anybody at castle be collecting for the family?

Just to give a heads up and address any concerns any possible winner may have regarding the payment status (and also to bump this worthy thread back up) I've already paid Blue via Paypal. I've been in communication with him, and he's all for this. I'll be letting him know who the winner is. I'm not a season pass holder (although maybe down the road one day), so unfortunately I can't add that to the mix. But, I hope this auction goes well!

And for all you guys that are already going...make a bid and bring a friend/spouse/family member/pod-loading-gear-hefting pack mule.
