i'm into R/C as well as paintball and i know the prices of both pretty well and by looking at that thing it hard to justify that price.

i'd like to know the radio system and servos he's using in it. servos can cost over a $100 a piece, but i doubt he's putting that high of a quality servos in it. i bet he doesn't have 1/3 in cost of his asking price.

A quick google (first link) showed the car(with 3 channel controller) for retail at <$400.. Figure $65 for the Gun Maybe $50 for an extra servo $20 for the tank..

Nice margins..

yeah, the T-maxx comes with a cheap 3 channel radio. 1 channel for steering, 1 for throttle and brake, and the 3rd channel operates the reverse mechanism. you'll still need extra channels for the gun. 1 channel for the trigger, 1 channel for moving the gun left and right, and then another channel to raise and lower the barrel. so it's a safe bet to assume that it would come with a radio that has more channels than the standard radio that comes with a Tmaxx. i could be wrong though. even with an aftermarket radio, the price is ridiculous.

Naw, if Doc did it, it would have a paint cannon on the front, pivvot 360 degrees. With tank treads and a remote helmet cam that sends live video to a laptop where you control the beast.

and for that, we'd all drop over 2 grand.

You wouldn't need an extra radio channel. The gun can't be fired while the car is in "drive mode" I'm assuming they're just reusing the same channels, but switching it over from the paintball control to car control.

It's an interesting idea, and kudos to the kids at carnegie who created it. But if they really think it's worth $1,800, they are either the worst design engineers ever, or are trying to rip someone off. I'm guessing the latter.

If they get some poor guy to buy this thing, I guess more power to them. Just sucks for that guy.
