Jhyan is right..although the implication that the stainless steel dye barrels were "earlier" barrels is only a little bit true. The aluminum barrels were manufactured along side the stainless barrels even though carter started what would become the dye stainless much earlier.
This barrel is a ripoff I cant believe its so expensive, makes no sense to me, ive seen um go for cheaper everywhere.
spyymarket1978 here has a dye stainless which I like best for a phantom because of the weight it adds.

Woo, I paid $225 for a phantom package that had a stock barrel along with a dye phantom barrel (and a sc body and left feed body, and a back bottle valve and a vert air set up). If my barrel is worth $117, then the rest of the package was only $108 *grin*. Seriously, I like my dye phantom barrel, but can't imagine paying $117 for it.
