| Bigtuana once again! | Star Frame?
What's a star frame? I see them listed on people's BST's for their eteks and I am curious to what they are. Would they fit on an 06 ego?

I'm new the PE as well, but what I can find it that its an upgrade frame for the Etek that provides a better board with display instead of colored lights ( LCD board) and more features, a QEV,. different ergonomics, It is not for Egos. it is similar to installing an Ego frame on your Etek.

None yet, but I'm in the market for a shoot fast gun and the Ego/Etek lines appeal to me. I don't know what I want although something different that what I've had. I'm trying to work a trade for an 06 Ego for a PM7 on the Nation. Dan

heh, fair enough. Although, I would recomend starting at ego7. The differences between 05/06 and 07/08 lines are vast, and quite noticable. My first ego was a 7, and I loved it.

I just swapped out my stock Etek 2 frame for a star framed Etek I picked up in a trade. There isn't much of a weight difference, but the trigger (magnetic) is waaaay better than stock. Amongst the dozens of settings you can use to fine tune your marker, there is a choice of microswitch or optical pickup for the trigger built right into the board. Also maybe my favorite feature is the built in training mode. Here the marker can be aired up, but when fired it only releases a small "puff" sound versus a full "pop". You can feel the kick and fine tune your trigger skills. One con is the only grips which fit properly are the specific star frame grips. Ego 08 ones fit, but leave about 10mm of your eye wires exposed where the eye covers meet the frame. Overall if you can afford it ( my local shop has them for $200 new) definitely pick one up.

Before the ETek came out, there was the 2005 Star Frame and 2006 Star Frame compatible with both 05-06 Egos, but only compatible with their respective year of boards. The 05 and 06 frames added a trigger spring, different triggers, intergrated rail, and extended snatch grips. The 06 frame went further with a longer trigger and a hooked snatch grip. 05 Star Frame: ![]() 06 Star Frame:
