how to tell gen of mini

Just bought one off a guy. Brand new, never fired. How do I tell what gen it is or what year? Please help

The 1 had flatter detent covers. After that the changes are more subtle and generally involve the poppit. Just make sure it has an optimus 1.2 board or better. The 1.1 was bad and replaced free, beyond that its all easy to fix.

Yeah, there really is no V1 or V2, etc. The improvements were released over time you you could have any combination of parts. Doing a quick net search will reveal the info you're after as far as specifics and pictures of what to look for.

They're incredibly fun guns that unfairly earned a bad rao IMO.

I think newer ones came in a cardboard box instead of a case .

That's true but it's not an indicator of the gun honestly. Mine came with the nice case but the gun never had any of the problems everyone seemed to bring up.
