Defective Empire Events/Eflex lenses?

It seems like that I'm not the only one having this issue so I'm asking on a larger basis outside of my social group to see if this is infact a larger issue:

In the past 2-3 months, I've bought a mirror lens and a yellow thermal lens and both of them were defective and fogged within one use, the yellow lens failing immediately when I got on the field with them and the mirror was fielded one day and then fogged the next time I used it. I've resorted to using my older clear lens for fieldtime.

A teammate who bought one recently had the same issue where his fogged inbetween the lens immediately when he put it on.

I've never had issues with them, I even have one older rental mask that's scratched to hell and that lens is still doesn't fog.

The only problem is I didn't keep the receipts for both of them as I never had an issue and the stores I bought them are hours away from the store. Anyone else bump into this?

Call their customer support. They should be able to help.

Sounds like the same issue I had with the new profiler thermals. The lenses separate from the foam layer (that black line everyone cries about on the eflex) leaving a gap that allows moisture in.

I'd call their customer service. Similarly I only got 3 days of play out of the profiler lens. Very, very disappointing because it was fabulous when it worked.

Maybe it's the current batch of lenses. I've had my lenses for years (indeed, I might be due for a new set) and haven't had any issues at all with the dual layer.

Well, just a small update, KEE comes through and sent me two replacements. one of them even came in a newer style box! The mirror one still came in the older style box (same as the defective ones)...kinda worried about that one.

When I was using Proflexes I used to make sure my failed lenses were good and dry and then use silicone sealant ( fishtank stuff ) and run a bead around the outside edge - always fixed the problem and got me at least a full year out of my lenses

Thank for the info- I was about to contact them too. When I bought my E-Flex mask I picked up a smoked lens to go with it, and it got condensation between the panes after the first outing. I put the original clear lens back and it's held up through two days of play.
