Mini Sensor Board issue

So picked up a Mini and some other gear for a song on CL. After replacing the leaking poppet, every o-ring, and thoroughly cleaning the entire marker, it was obvious that the eyes weren't working (looked like the original owner never cleaned or lubed the marker.) But the marker still worked when I turned the eyes off. I chopped a lot of paint but wasn't surprised with the eyes turned off.

Bought a new stock sensor board, installed it, power on the marker and the Virtue board continually goes into programming mode. If it doesn't do that it won't fire with the eyes on or off. Replaced the new board with the old damaged board and gun fires perfectly after I turn the eyes off. Any ideas?

Check how many holes there are in the ASA.

The last team I played on competitively had a brief sponsorship that left us shooting first-gen Minis. We ran them blind when we could get them to work, but we had massive issues. The fact that it's chopping blind doesn't help the case; I'd guess it's the earlier model.

Don't see how having an earlier Mini would make a difference. They eye boards are identical. Plus I'm not using a stock power board. I'm using the Virtue board for the Mini.

The reason why it is going into programing mode is 1 of 2 reasons. 1st The trigger is being pushed so the programing mode is activated. Adjust your trigger activation set screw out (or down) untill the gun does not fire or go in to program mode then slowly screw it in (or up) until it shoots again. 2nd when you put the grip frame back on you missed 2 of the pins. Check to make sure the entire board is plugged in to the upper board correctly.

2nd option sounds more likely. Trigger can't be the issue since it doesn't boot to programming mode when I use the damaged board.

That doesn't matter about the old board. If all boards were the same you would not have to adjust them. Some times the sensor is weaker or stronger depending on the board. I have seen it where I have dropped 3 boards in the same gun and 1 did not work, how ever it did work in a different mini. If it is a Virtue eye board they tend to use better components than everyone else.

I hope this helps

So you think just adjust the trigger to the new eye board?

Very possible

it might only need 1 turn with the allen to back it off far enough, it could be very similar location wise, but just too close

Thanks to those of you who recommended adjusting the trigger magnet. That did the trick.
