You can check it just by turning it on without paint and trying to stop the paddles with a finger. Mine would stop dead while the motor still whirred.

I doubt yours did the same thing, but it is something to look for.

You absolutely need the new style detents, and the second or third generation poppet.

Be sure the flow restrictor is in the rear air transfer hole in the body under the air transfer plate.

About 1/3 of the way down the page.

Ok so I just dissembled my Mini (a part from the eyes part since the Solenoid was to tight and I did not have my tools)
So i have the new detents but I seem to have the v1 Poppet.
So that would mean I need to get myself s Poppet spring?
Any special place to get one of those?

thanks

I would verify - just because you dont have the springed poppet doesnt mean thats the issue honestly. The Springed poppet was to fix the issue when shipping the Minis when the guns were in transit, the poppets would shift slightly, so the users would get them, air them up and blow air right down the barrel. In the manual it discusses this and tells you to fully seat the poppet and then reset the velocity. Thats all the springed poppet did ( told this by 4 different people at Kee )

Some of the initial Poppets when they first came out had too small a diameter hole drilled in them, causing timing issues. This can cause some blowby. If you have the newer detents, chances are you have the corrected poppet already.

Do the 2 ball test - put 2 balls in the feedneck and fire, if the 2nd ball jumps pretty high, change the bolt o-rings ( paintballgateway.com 1.00 for a full set ) or your local hardware store - Boss has the diagram and o-ring sizes lilsted. Relube and then try the 2 ball test again, if you still get the 2nd ball jumping up high into the air, then I would worry about replacing the poppet.

If you dont get any ball jump, check your bolt bumper oring to make sure it looks good. Just liek dealign with Mags and Matrixes - chances are its just an o-ring or lube when a Mini starts acting up.

if you don't have it going by TB3 I can probably help you out if you are planning on attending

Jack Mini shot 1500 rounds without a hiccup over the weekend in 40 degree temps shooting year old paint with the stock barrel.

Thanks.
I will try that.

So I put 2 balls in the feedneck without a hopper. But how high would be pretty high? like a couple of inches?

I'll try it out this week

thanks again

i would say anything over 4 inches is too much blowback. If its all set up properly you shouldnt get more than a wobble.

no hopper, 2 in the feedneck and shoot once

Ok so I did the test and the second ball only puts up maybe an inch. So I guess its all good.

But, I did hear a little hissing sound when the tank was on it. Like if there was a small leak from behind the the gun (where I screw in and out for velocity adjustment). An always constant hiss.
So should I change the o-rings from the bolt?

thanks

There is an o-ring on the rear adjuster. This seals the dump chamber. I would remove the adjuster, and lube the o-ring. Replace it, and screw in gently until it bottoms against the poppet. Back it out about 1/2 turn to start. You will need to re-chronograph. You may not need to replace the o-ring, a little lube may work.

thanks, I did already lub it all up but I will try it again. And if it does leak again I will change that o-ring and see.
I am pretty sure there is one in the kit I got it.

thanks
