Walz Pirate Mag

UPDATE: Black Macroline and better picture! This one is done and ready for my pegboard!

Alright so I picked this up off of Harley and gave her a clean up. She needed a barrel and I wanted a barrel that had a muzzle break but also had a clean look. I picked this up from Baccipaintball: a 10" OTP Barrel 685 bore. At some point I will replace the blue macro with black.

Im happy with it!

Siler framed Palmerized PGP

Alright, this was a project I have had in the back of my mind for about a year. Smiley had made a post in the custom gun section called a "pistol worthy of a general". It was great to see, but I wanted to see the same idea with even more of a refined look.

I picked up the Siler frame and got Derek to build me some absolutely gorgeous Walnut grips for it! These grips alone of a royal eloquence to them.

Around the same time, I picked up this very minty PGP from Terry. The condition is great, original paint, no dents - the perfect base gun.

Right now she is off to Palmers for the second last step of the project. Update to come!

Not exactly paintball, but it's the brains of my mill.

But I need to upgrade the RAM in this guy, so I cracked her open.

Well time to start removing pieces, first the keyboard, trackpad and screen assembly

Next the battery and hard drive.

Now remove one daughter board.

Then the next, along with the DVD rom.

And lastly the three remaining daughter boards and the motherboard itself can be removed.

Now to find myself some DDR SDRAM SODIMMs...

These old military ruggadized laptops are super cool. If I can find a little cash I'd like to built a small HTPC inside this since it is so darn roomy inside!.

Trying to revitalize the AT85, I found a small leak that appears to be coming from the cycle assembly.

First I used a 3/32 key to remove the retainer plate.

I then unscrewed the reset pin.

Pushed out the rocker pin.

What it looks like with everything removed so far.

Unscrew the retaining screws using a T-6 Torx bit.

Wiggle, pry and pull the cycle assembly out. It is friction fit with some orings, I used a small pair of pliers to gently pry it out until I could get a strong enough grip to pull it with my fingers.

I next pushed the spool out of it's housing with pressure from my thumb.

It got stuck again just before being pulled all the way out, a gently tug on the spool pulls the bulkhead out the rear however.

Leaving you with a piece and an assembly.

Turns out that for the price of the RAM that I need I can almost buy a whole new machine.

Stumbled across this System on Module with a decent enough Intel Celeron SoC and the ever important LPT port. I luckily have everything else I need to build it into a working machine from a laptop that blew up about a year ago. It will need a monitor, keyboard and mouse for now, but I'm hoping to buy/build an adapter to run the touchpad and keyboard from the old laptop as well as an adapter for the existing or a new panel.

EDIT: I ordered it, should be here sometime next week. I'm already super excited.

With one of these and one of these I should be good to go.
