The range finders ive heard of being used are eye safe. There may be some that are not but most of the ones ive seen advertised say they are safe. It is a good point though, people that do plan to use them need make sure they are not going to damage anyones eyes.

laser Range Finders

Speaking with jjron's buddy Trinity and others who
are really into this sniping business it would seem
they use laser range finders, while their scopes are
bow scopes.

Here's an example of one of their sytems.

Most, if not all of the consumer grade laser range finders are class I (safe, unless pointed through magnifying optics) because their wavelength (Infrared) is long and the lasers produce relatively wide beams.

Laser pointers and such are class II+ because of their small diameter beams and relatively high power levels.

Funny you mention an All In One scope as that now seems
to be the direction several people are looking at. Scopes
with built in range finders and drop compensation exist. It's
the cost factor I'm sure which is holding most back. At the
least it's been suggested that snipers look to invest in a
decent red dot scope, as opposed to using open sights.

Keep us in the loop with your progress with that dsa. I just got an i4s from my bf who switched to the 5. So ill be checking it out

How does the app work exactly. Like how does it calculate range to target?

Actually this is where the app falls short. It uses a grid pattern range finder. I suspect due to the limitations if the device. Other than the range issue it is the perfect app.
