New Year - 2012 Fitness/Weight Loss Check-in - Week 1

So, let's see if we can't keep folks motivated throughout the new year.

Instead of posting up a week 19 and making people feel like they can't jump in at anytime, let's start new.

No contests, just ongoing motivation. Post up and let your peers keep track.

Are you cutting or bulking?
Current weight?
Lifting routine?
Running routine?

Basically jot down your current milestones. How fast are you running a 5k, or how much are you lifting?

A few of us have been doing this long before the new year's resolution folks, but if you're one of those folks, please please... jump right on in. The trick is to stay motivated.

Beach weather will be here before you know it. Time to look the best.

My Stats:

Trying to cut...
Current Weight as of 1/9/2012: 205.7 lbs

Running: 7:30 pace for 3 miles, (22:30 minutes for 3 miles) just broke my old record. I'm thinking I'll keep this one for a while or until I can lose another 10 lbs.

Weight Lifting: 5 x 5 routine - Current Squat: 225 lbs (had it up to 315 lbs on a 3 x 5, but reset it to do a once a week 5 x 5 squat routine)

My Routine:

Lifting 3 times a week (Upper body twice, lower body once - custom routine)
Running 2 to 3 times a week
Skiing and other outdoor sports also incorporated

Edit: On week 1 of the original fitness challenge, I was already losing weight, but clocked in on 8/22/2011 at 217 and change after being roughly 219 the week before. It's a long hard road... And it takes time. Many plateaus and tough weeks of wondering what you're screwing up. Just keep at it is all you can do.

My goal is to be able to do a 5k in 20 minutes and keep up with my wife. She's fast. I'm sure I can keep up. I'm not allowed to beat her, but I'd like to stay with her. All the while adding on muscle... I plan on being the fastest Clydesdale runner out there. It means someone who weighs more than 190 lbs as a male. I have no large interest in running more than 5 or 6 miles. Strength and speed is my weapon. So far, that's my goal.

Cool!

OK, 6'1" currently 218lbs. My goal is to drop that to around 200.

Currently running 5k in about 26-27 min. I want to improve that to an easy 25 min or faster but I am more interested in extending the distance out to 10k this year.

I have been focusing on strengthening my core and loosing weight/size more than anything. So I have been doing a lot of push ups, sit ups, core work outs...

I want to work on pull ups this year.

My goal for this year is to train for and complete the Kelowna Triathalon in August. I don't want to just survive it, I want to finish in a respectable time for a first timer. This means I will have to start swimming and riding again as well.

GOOD LUCK Everyone! Keep at it!

Alright, I'm in!

Currently I'm 220lbs and 6'4.

I'm looking to cut 10lbs right now. Starting out small first.

I'm looking to start running or power walking on the treadmill daily & starting to lift weights too.

Well to start this off I dusted off the pro-form XP550 and turned it on Good start I know!

Trying to figure out the programming on it, but for now I did 25 minutes power walking, burned 26 carbs, 207 cal, and total walked was 1.49 miles.

It's a start!

225.4 pounds

Goals:
200 pounds
Sub eight minute mile
Complete the 100 push up challenge

Routine:
Weights and aerobic three days a week (run 1.5-2 miles per day and work out major/minor muscle groups every other day)
Hockey one night a week
Started the 100 push up challenge today

This is the heaviest I have ever been and I am not happy with my weight. I feel it every day; I have to pull myself out of the car, get up extra slow and just feel sluggish. It's time to get some stamina and strength back.
