Recovery will lag if you aren't eating enough quality protein, regardless of overall calories.

Also as weight gets heavier the body tends to need a little more time to recover.

Personally I only do deadlifts once a week, that **** drains me too much, And I'm only doing 1 set of them, which is even with a relatively lightbreak weight.

how long have you been on starting strength? there is a point where you need to mix up what you do and change your routine because your body get used to what you are currently doing.

when regular deads started tearing me up at the heavier weights i switched to romanian deads for a cycle, then when i went back to regular deads i blew through the plateau i was at.

^Great advice. Change is good, I like to switch up my exercises about every 6 weeks to help prevent my progress from stalling.

Like 5 months.

Right now I front squat on the days I deadlift. I also alternate incline with flat bench and OHP with push press.

Holy crap I hadn't lifted for more than a week before squatting today. I forgot what it felt like to want to skip leg day.

I hate every squat rep.

I think that might be why they're my favorite lift.

Deadlifting is my favorite lift but I don't hate it. What I do hate are flies. OMG do I hate any type of fly. Such an awkward movement to me but I can't ever figure out why.

I'm a shoulder press freak as well. I do 185 for 5 on my 5th set and I am STRICT on the forum. All the way down touching my chest

I like going deep too. Your supposed to stop at 90 degrees but i like the way it feels to go all the way down.
