Not to crush your dream but personal training can be rough bro. I did it for a few years in uni.

Suggestions: get certified in a niche area before or after doing a broad certification.

Also, self employment will net more profit for time put in. Most gyms will want you to head hunt for clients and then try and convince them of the value of a pt. Now you and I probably realize the value of paying a pt. You average consumer doesn't. That being said if you can offer a reasonable rate while not trying to sign them to a massive contract I found it easier to find, acquire and then maintain that client.

Also be prepared to work like crazy. Crazy hours, crazy schedule and crazy clients haha.

Good luck bro.

You really need to focus on working with older people to make stacks.

My parents owned a gym some years ago and I got certified when I was 17.
I totally agree with the above statement. Older people are where the money is.
Just be super friendly and lots and lots of encouragement. Dont start anyone off to much too quickly though, you can turn them off to the idea I learned. At least with the older crowd. Learn a lot about them and work with them, sort of like a "bedside" manner a doctor would or something and im sure they will return more and more.

Assuming you're talking about independent trainers...

Most don't make much because they're not able to network effectively. If you aren't a herb and know how to reach people, you can probably bite off enough clients to keep your appointment book flush.
