BTW: I agree with you about vacationing in Japan. For the most part: - Language barrier is not as difficult as might be expected. - I feel safe walking unfamiliar streets late at night. - The transportation systems are orderly and clean. - Food and other ammenities are plentiful. - The monetary system is a base 10 and easy to figure out. - There a good mix of urban and rural, modern and ancient destinations to visit. Blah, blah, blah... |

Well thought I would bring this thread back to like. "Month of the Daughter" From what little English the Hotel reseptionest could speak,She explained that this was a dedication to Daughters. A wish of prosper life, love, Happines and Babies. I thought this was very cool looking display. All items are made from cloth fabric by hand. You could judt tell alot of work went into these. You can't walk among them.Everything is roped off. Good thing this was on display in my Hotel lobby. I was the only guy there looking at it and taking pictures ![]() The month of the Son Begins on May 5th. So they have a celebration for the guys as well. I Won't be here for that one. So enjoy the pictures. Later, Blackrain ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Jumps to conclusions | ![]() The dolls can get crazy expensive(tens of thousands of dollars). It gets displayed for a while but it's more or less celebrated on one day. Boy's day gets overshadowed here by Cinco de Mayo. I used to fly a mini carp off my car but someone stole it. |

I lived in Japan for a year. One time I left my wallet on the train with $300 equivalent in Yen. It sat for 2 weeks before I could get it, on the EXACT SAME SPOT I left it in, with tall the money in it untouched. Hundreds and hundreds of people walked past it, sat next to it, and saw it and were honorable enough to leave it alone. I love that country. Oh, and the scuba diving is AWESOME!!! |

Easy to remember... 3/3 = Girls' Day (Hina Matsuri "doll festival"). 5/5 = Boys' Day (now it's Childrens' Day). The joke is 4/4 is for coming out of the closet. If you know who the comedian HG is, or Ivankov from One Piece... then I think you'll get the idea. |

Today I braved the Japanees Train System SOLO. My goal was China Town. I can say that it wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. If you are into eating oriental food, then this is the place for you. The streets are lined with Resturaunts and shops, mostly places to eat. One word of advice, things get cheaper the deeper you go into China Town. If your into phone bling, this is the place for it. I must have bought about a $100 worth for less than $20. My Wife and Mom now have enough phone Bling till the world comes to an End ![]() I did find the Museum very interesting. It was filled with illusions. Evey picture was an illusion that one could take a picture against and seem part of it. I did visit the two temples that were local. One allowed pictures to be taken, the other didn't. Both were adorned with Dragons and pure Gold Leaf. So on with the tour. This is probably my last group of photos and probably my last trip. I may get Marching orders this week.
