Has anyone else noticed that ever since they announced that the disease is inside everyone, nobody actually get an infection anymore?

When Jim got scratched back in season 1, he went through the trials of the illness. It took a long time for it to tear him down, and they left him. Now everyone who gets bit just bleeds out and dies.

By my account, almost everyone on the show should be dead, but the most obvious one from Sunday's episode is The Governor and Michonne. They both had cuts, the Governor especially, that were from glass that was covered in the walker head water.

I know it's really nit-picking and looking passed all of the excitement of the show, but come on...

I was kind of thinking the same thing with Glen, ripping apart the zombie arm... one cut and he is zombienfected. Not sure simple cuts will cause the zombie virus to grow inside you, but getting zombie blood in your cut surely will. Why risk it?

it is not a matter of getting zombie blood or anything like that on you. The reason that people who get bit turn is because of death through infection. It is not the zombie bite that kills them but instead is infections from the unsanitary conditions of their mouth that gets transferred to the bloodstream of the living that causes an infection that is ultimately fatal if not treated. Scratches could potentially spread the same things as they get raw meat and such under their nails and it rots some...along with their own rotting flesh.

But it is stoppable if treated quickly as we have seen with scratches becoming nothing, and Herschel getting his leg hacked off before infection could spread.

jim got hit by a zombie.

michonne and gov fighting... not hit by zombies.

i think of getting bitten or knicked by a zombie like getting bitten or scratched by a very venomous snake. if it happens, youre screwed.

everything else besides injuries from zombies happens like normal.
