I got what I wanted. Lori is dead, Carl became a man, and Glen is still alive.
They killed off Tdog and went through another black guy. Somehow the Asian got the farmer's daughter, made improvised weapons, and oh... ya know... still alive....

I dunno, I almost think the writers WILL have Merle rejoin the group for a while just to play out the internal conflict with Darryl... Who does he side with, the brother with no real sense of morals, or the group that isn't blood but has taken him in like family over the months they've been together? Not saying I would support that, really... I feel like we've had enough of that kind of drama with the Shane and Lori debacles the past two seasons. But it's not a reach to think that they'd do it.

I can't express how happy I am the character died off.

I think I fast-forwared 90% of season 2. Pretty much anytime she was on the screen moping, whining, etc.

Daryl has alluded to Merle not being a very good brother to him. Despite the fact that Daryl is a skilled woodsman, I think he has very little in common with Merle other than the same mother, and motorcycles.

I believe that Merle will remain a "fringe" antagonist, showing up whenever things are good to throw a monkey wrench into things for a whil, then disappear for a while, and return. They'll get some mileage out of old Merle.
