When I lived in Germany (well a while back) this gal took me to watch a fencing match. It was the damnedest thing I ever saw. Nothing like the SCA or Olympics or even what you see in the movies. These 2 guys in padded gear and goggles. By goggles I mean they just covered their eyes in what looked like little metal strainers. would stand toe to toe and as near as I could tell whirl their blades over their heads smacking them off of one another. The match ended when one was able to bring his sword down and slash his opponents cheek. At least thats how it seemed. Apparently these dueling scars where hot with the German chicks.
