Accord. Not big on Hondas but of all my buddies that drove Hondas only the guys with the Accords still drive them. They just keep on ticking. It's all just opinion really so test drive whichever you are thinking of purchasing. If you get there and it's already running beware. I always prefer to be able to cold start prospective buys. I also usually watch the lots to see if they move once something catches my eye. The longer it sits the better the chance of spotting leaks, etc. If you have a mech in the family it wouldn't hurt to take them along as well.

That's what I'm trying to do. But, even though it may be reliable, I don't want it to look like it went through the crusher before I got it.

Wow, that Civic you linked in the first post looks like a colossal POS. But really, Honda? Are you a 15 y/o grandmother? Your first car is not the time to be practical. Get something fun. In your price range you'll be looking at well used Mustangs and Camarobirds, but if you can save $5K, you might be ble to get into a ratty Porsche or Corvette. I wouldn't put a bad sounding exhaust on it anyway. I pay put an aftermarket exhaust on it, but I'd pick a good sounding one. Not one like the drug dealer down the street has. ![]() EDIT: WilD, I found a nice mustang, but I don't really like camaros. I have to have something that has airbags per my mom. >_< Really limits my choices. As far as $5000, that'll take a while. I've been saving for 4 years already.

I recommend the Accord. It's still a stick shift (fun!) with a new clutch. Talons can be problematic, but they are good-looking cars. The Civic you posted needs too much work. Your first car need not be something uber special, as it will statistically get sacrificed to the car gods. The less you spend on this one, the more you'll be able to spend later on a car that's trick. With imports, it always seems the more mods it has, the harder life it's had.
