Sad, yet funny, yet nasty, yet amazing.

birds . . . with my old '66 Fury they used to impact the leading edge of its aircraft carrier long hood, and then smear up across it to half the time get tangled in the wipers

ick

worse was when a robin tried to kill me. I was driving an '88 Festiva at the time, and I was actually on my way to pick up a friend to go play paintball. It was early on a sunday as I went down an offramp . . . being June in Baltimore I had the my window down - it was a festiva, you think it had AC?! anyhow, as I am zipping around this ramp I see motion out the corner of my left eye and then WHAM! it felt like someone whacked me across the back of the head with a bat. I instantly could not see out the left side of my glasses, and I was fighting to control the car at that point.

I get the car back under control, and finish going around the ramp and pull over. I look over and see the passenger window covered in gore . . . I take my glasses off and see the left lens is covered in blood and egg yolk

egg yolk?

at that point I notice the half of a robin in the passenger footwell.

the motion I noticed was the robin flying out of the trees beside the ramp, the impact I felt was the robin bouncing off the back off my neck after it had ricocheted off the B-pillar

it was a pregnant robin at that

it made one helluva mess inside the car . . . robin offal was everywhere

I didn't clean it up till after I got to my friends place . . . I needed a witness to that insanity as I was still having trouble accepting it myself

LOL

thats a lot of bird to have bounce off of you at ~50mph

a dog ran into the rental buick lacerne while we were on vacation, we were on a 2-lane high way and the dog ran across one the lane two cars in front of me, the car in front of me slowed then sped up, and i followed, thinking the dog would cross, the owners called him back so it decided to do a quick turn and run back, it hit the rear driver wheel, thankfully it seemed like it just bounced off as there was no bump, and he was just lying on the side. i still regret not stopping , but if i had i would have had to run back to check while blocking off all traffic.

coolest non-hit was when a bunny ran in front of me and stopped and i drove over the little critter (car passed over him), he was sitting there covering its eyes than proceeded to run like a bat out of hell.

best near miss was when i was following my friend's firebird to his house. we crested a hill that they had generously graveled, when i proceeded to fish tail. went left than right then left and right and then spun right into someone's driveway crossing the left lane, and missing the fences on both sides of the drive way and stopping a few feet from their garage door. my friend saw all this through his rearview mirror and proceeded to call me while i sat there hyperventalating lol.
